MARGARET GRACE McNAIR AM AWARDS

Grace was a ‘carer beyond the bedside’ and in 1985 was awarded the Order of Australia for services to nursing and the community. Grace was the driving force in fund raising to establish the Centre and managing it. At the time of her death in May 1990, aged 78 years, she was the President of the Management Committee. She is recognised by the Awards given in her name to those who have demonstrated standards of excellence in clinical studies and practice in their final year of study for the Bachelor of Nursing degree and the Bachelor of Midwifery degree.

NURSES MEMORIAL FOUNDATION RESEARCH GRANT

An annual grant is available to research a subject pertaining to improving patient care. The project must be completed in 2 years. For more information refer to the Application form on the Research Grant page.

DR. ROGER WURM SCHOLARSHIPS

A copy of an Application form together with information regarding the availability follows on the Scholarships page, or may be obtained by applying to the Secretary.

CRANAplus

Since 2016 the Foundation has given donations to CRANAplus to assist financing scholarships to nurses working in remote areas. CRANAplus manages the donation.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO NURSES & MIDWIVES IN TIMES OF ILLNESS AND ADVERSITY

The Foundation offers financial assistance to practicing and retired nurses and midwives in times of illness and adversity. Please refer to the Application form for further information. Copies of the forms are obtainable from the Secretary.

LEAHURST HOME FOR AGED TRAINED NURSES INCORPORATED

In 1990 the Foundation established a Trust to help with the cost of buildings and housing at Leahurst in the caring of aged trained nurses. The Trust funds are only available for these purposes. If Leahurst fails to utilise the Fund, the Fund monies are to be distributed to another charitable association. For further information please contact Leahurst direct at 108 Magill Road, Magill, SA.
